Teampage....

 Welp its Wendsay this time, because we are gonna get out early tomorrow and start Christmas Break!!!! And we have to blog about our teampage!  On our teampage, the questions weren't that hard.  They were pretty easy to do.  Me and my partners took turns answering the questions and doing the work.  We worked hard to fill out the timeline and answer all of the questions.  Most of the work wasn't that hard.  We have finished almost all of the questions and things on our teampage!  It really doesn't take that long to do everything on the teampage, if we all work together!  And most of it is done in result of us working together on it!

Presentation...

  Well, it's Friday of course, and today our topic is Presentation.  I am really glad it is Friday!  In our game demo presentation, we need to work together and let everyone have a great understanding of our game!  Kaitlyn, Emily, and I need to take turns and work together to explain our game really good.  On our game presentation, we will work really hard to explain how our game will work and how it will operate!  We willl probably explain the animations, button, and other things that will be included in our game!  Our presentation will take place on Tuesday of next week.  Next week should be really great, because we only have three days and a half to go until CHRiSTMAS BREAK!!!!  I can't wait!  In our presentation we will include some examples of the scenes that will be included in our game.  Also, when someone else is presenting, we will be quite when everyone else is presenting!  On our game demo, I did all of the buttons with some help from Corey, haha.  Most of the first scenes I made also.  I got all of the scenes in order from what they are supposed to be also.

Game Demo....

On our game demo, we have finished almost everything.  We have actions and movement in our game demo! On our demo, we have a pick and a coal bucket moving so far.  We may add more movement or different types of animations! Me and my partner Kaitlyn, got our animations finished a few days ago.  We have added more decorations to our game demo to!  We have pretty well finished everything on our game demo! We have worked pretty hard on our game demo, and we are working on our game to!!  Hopefully our game demo presentations will be a success! Me and Kaitlyn have worked really hard on our demo and game. What should you do during a presentation....

      During a presentation, you should show like action.  Also, don't hold the paper in front of your face.  When ever you are doing a presentation, you need to try and stay as focused as possible.  And when ever you are presenting, you need to keep your eyes on the audience and not like up in the air or anything. Presenting, can be a very important part of your grade sometimes. Hopefully my team will do good at the presentations!

What I'm thankful for...

     I am thankful for, my family, friends, and God! (:   I'm thankful for my wonderful family, because alot of people don't have people they can look to for inspiration and help.  My family, is people who I can definatly trust!  Also, I am thankful for my wonderful friends! Like, Kaitlyn, Emily, Meghan, Shayna, Faith, and everyone else! I have alot of friends and some very close ones I have knew forever! And I am very thankful for God!  Without him nothing would be possible! He is someone I can always talk to anytime and look to for help! So, there are many things I'm thankful for, but these are just a few! :D  Have a Wonderful Thanksgiving Everyone!!!! <3  Don't eat to mush TURKEY!!!! yummmm..! What I liked and didn't like about Mini Game...

   Today is Thursday, which is our blogging day since we don't have school tomorrow!  What I liked about the Mini Game project is helping the 7th graders and uploading.  I don't like all of the coding involved in Mini Game.  I like the new flash, because it has alot of new features!  Also, we just finished our Game Demo!  Yesterday,  we showed our Demo's to the 7th graders and acted like we were really presenting.  Hopefully showing them ours, will help them out in the making of the Demo.  Also, it helped us eighth graders learn about what mistakes we made in our Game Demo.   Well, BYE! My Partner's in Globaloria!

Well, of course it's Friday or I wouldn't be blogging! haha. Anyway, this Friday, Mr.Addair wants us to blog about how our partners are; one good thing and one bad.


Well, I really wouldn't have chose any other partner in our class to be quit honest.  My partners, which is Kaitlyn and Emily, have been my bestfriends since elementary school!


Me, Emily, and Kaitlyn work good together.  Things I like about them is that most of the time when I want them to do something they will.


Really, as partners, me, Emily, and Kaitlyn, don't really have any problems unless somebody won't do something or something goes wrong.  Another thing we do, is we have different ideas sometimes on different things, but we usually find a way to put them all together into one!

Challenges..

  Today's that best day of the week, that means FRIDAY of course!! My challenges in flash, haven't really happened to often.  I think that the new flash we got, is alot easier than the one we had last year!  We haven't really had much experience in flash at this point in time, but wat we have had, it has been pretty easy!  We have almost completed the Game Skeleton!  All we need is to put a picture of our title scene and some other scene!  I think that our game, will be very good.  All of the eighth graders games, will probably be alot better than last year.  Since we have a new flash and more experience with making a game!  Also, I believe that the seventh graders games will be good to, they have already learnt to do alot!

Paper Prototype

     It's Friday, so it's blogging time!  My teams game topic, is COAL!!  The most important concept that I want players to learn, is that coal is a HUGE part of West Virginia! Our game topic changed, because at first, we were gonna do the Titanic. But we found out that it had to be on West Virginia History, so we changed it to Coal.  We decided on coal, because it is a HUGE part of WV!  Our team process, was for each of our team memembers to make an certain amout of scenes, we took turns making the scenes.  Our research, was mostly on the internet and from our knowledge of West Virginia. Our game play, is based on 3 levels.  We will have 3 questions in our game, but it will involve stradgey!  Our plan for our game, is to have 3 levels; like I said before.  And Also, to have the player on a machine mining through the coal, before they get to the level.  Yes, our game has changed before you actually started planning it out.  And it changed, because we thought of something more interesting.  Altough I haven't had much experience on the new flash, I think that it is a ALOT better!  It has more new features, and makes better things!  I didn't really think that our game topic, was that diffuclut, because I have grew up in West Virginia and I know alot about it.

Non-Quiz

   Well, today is Friday!!! So of course that means blogging! :P And we have to be in here with the seventh graders :/ haha.  Today is exciting because the RiverView Homecoming game is today! Well guess I better start blogging, so our game is not suppossed to be a quiz game.  So we are going to have stuff in ours that you have to move and stuff to answer the questions in the game.  Ours should be pretty good since we did it last year.  I think it should be alright.  This year, I also have two partners instead of one.  Our game is based on COAL! Because Coal, is a HUGE part of West Virginia.  Our gmae title, is All we know is Mining Coal: West Virginia. Hopefully our game will be a success!  This year it has to be on Wes Virginia History, and be for eighth graders.  We have got alot done on our Paper Prototype, so far!

Game Ideas....

     Our game ideas so far for our game, is probably the Titanic.  Another group is supposed to be doing the same game idea, so yeah.  We have started the paper prototype, but I don't think seventh grade has yet.  My group has taken turns drawing differnt scenes.  So far, we have about three scenes finished.   Seventh grade is suppose to start soon.  We will contine doing this, probably over the rest of the month.  Hopefully, everyone will do good on their paper prototype.

Globaloria This Far....

     Globaloria this far, has been pretty good even though we haven't did mucah yet.  I got two of my bestfriends as my partners!! So far, we have been working on mini game, helping the seventh graders out with some of the stuff they don't know how to do yet. We had like to webacons and watched a video to blog on. After we get finished with this, we have to comment on three seventh graders blogs & three different seventh graders wiki's to.  Our idea so far is to do ours on the Titanic, but we will see what happenes ion the future!

A single story is kinda like a opinion..
A single story I have heard about is how they talk about how all West Virginian's are all hillbilly's, which isn't true. West Virginians are not all hillbilly's. People need to come to visit a state or something before they judge. West Virginia is like a short story. I've learnt that story, from hearing people talk about it. You could go visit the community or research it to find out more about it. A game could let players experience many stories about a place, because it will help you know more about it.

Imagining Your Game.

     It's Friday, ya know what that means! BLOGGING! I am desiging my game for 8th grade students.  Our game will teach something about history, probably the Titanic, that is undecided. More than likely our game  will be 1912, when the Titanic sunk. I will design a game to teach about what happened back when the Titanic sunk. This setting will add to the learning experience, because it will teach people about an important event in history.  Our game world will help to teach about what really happend on that day in 1912.  The player will use what they learnt to make the game more eaiser for them.  A game is a better way of understanding your topic than a quiz, because it will make it more fun than just a quiz.

Playing to Learn

 From playing to learn, I learnt that our topic would for sure be history. We played a few games this year, and wrote reviews. My favorite was probably Action. A game feature that stood out to me was the movie clip,that we did yesterday. Which I already learnt it from last year, but it was fun to learn the 7th graders. 

A question that I would have, would probably be what how do you make something move from sisde to side. Hopefully, I will learn how to do that before the end of the year!

I hope that it will be easier to do our game this year,  because we learnt some of it last year.

Starting a New Year in Globaloria!

     Welp, its friday, which means blog time and one more thing...Oh Yeah the weekend!!!! haha!This new year in Globaloria has been pretty good, so far! My partner this year is Kaitlyn, and we are the Country Chicks! Also, us being eighth grader, we have helped out the new seventh graders with there wiki's and blogs! This year, our game is supposed to be based on History.   Hopefully it will be pretty easy this year, since we was in Globaloria last year! Also, we have two new kids this year in our Globaloria class, and I think that they will do great!! And hopefully the seventh graders do good on there's also! I'm hoping that this year will be just as great as last year, and everyone has a good year in Globaloria!

Final Blog!......

This is my final Blog!!!! I am so excited for the Summer Break!! I look forward to taking Globaloria next  year.  I just smitted my final game a few days ago! I really enjoyed taking Globaloria this year, but I'm happy that it's time to have a break from school!  I look forward to having Summer Break, and spending time with my family and friends!  I am excited to see what the topic for our game will be next year!  I'm gonna miss my friends over the summer (the ones I won't see)... ):  I think that's all!

WESTEST.......

I think that some of the WESTEST was pretty hard, but kinda easy.  Math & Science, were pretty easy, but English and Social Studies, were hard.  I think the easiest was Math & the hardest was Social Studies. I really hope that I did good on the WESTEST, but I don't know what I will get. I think that I will do better on Math this time maybe.  Probably worse on Social Studies.  Also, I'm looking forward til' the end of the year! :D

Internet Safety.....

     I think internet safety in Globaloria, is very important.  You shouldn't put your last name, so that people can't get personal information about you.  If you disobey the rules of internet safety, then you have a higher chance of getting cyber bullied.  Only put things that you know won't reveal to much about you.  This matter should be enforced alot, not only in school, but also at home.

Our Game....

  Our game, will have Drag-and-Drop Boxes in it, to use them in the involvement of clothes in our game. Also, it will have arrow keys to move the characters.  Our game will probably be challenging to succeed in, but we will try our hardest.....(:

Math Games.....

     Ideas that we can you use in our game, are like the drag and drop boxes that we are going to use. In my opinion, games will help math motivation, because it will help you learn, while also having fun. My favorite game that I played, was a game on coolmath.com.  It was a game were you drive a car around and it tells you to land on the multiples of a number. And I did learn math while playing this game, but I also had fun while in the process.

Working on our game....

     Our experiences in flash have been okay, but at sometimes they have been very hetic.  The barriers I see when getting my game finished would be like something on our game not working right.  Some special effects my game will have, will be buttons, animations, and also different types of clothes.  The best part of our game will probaly be the part where you get to buy what you like. I look forward to finishing our game!! Educational Games.....

     A educational game that I have played was called "Brain Age", for my Nintendo DS.  It was really cool and fun to play.  Like if you got on everyday, you would put a stamp for the day.  I learned alot about multiplication and division.  I feel that learning games are very helpful in the process of learning, because it isn't as boring as sitting in a classroom listening to the teacher talk all the time.  I really enjoyed learning while playing that game.

Three things I like about my game and one i dislike.....

     One thing I like about my game is the shopping part, because I love to shop!!  Secondly, I like that who ever gets to play the game gets to pick which place they would like to go to.  And the other thing I like is that our game deals with money. I dislike that our game is a quiz game so far, but we are coming up with other ways to make them a non-quiz game.  I really like how our game is going along and I am very thankful to have a helpful partner.  I think that after awhile we may be able to come up with even more ways to make our game more interesting.  We are trying to get our self as far away from a quiz game as possible.  Also, I think that the movement and the sounds in our game will be very awesome!  I can't wait til' our final game.

  So far, My partner and I have succed at making one of the mall scenes, some of the loading scene and the home scene.  I think that making our final game is pretty hard in some ways, but with the help of my partner, I think we will do pretty good.  My partner and I have decided to split up parts of our game, and help eachother in the process.  I think we do have alot of work to accomplish during the process like the movement of the clothes and the buttons.  Also, the animation and art work will be a pretty big challenge.  In the creation of our game, we have decided to use images and color around the edges of the pictures  to put them on our game and to make them look neater.  The people for Charleston and the other ones who were involved in the game demo presentation, gave us some very good advice on what to create and include in our game. I really apperciate the advice that they game us.  My partner and I feel that it really helped us.

   After our Game Demo Presentation, we started creating our game!  After the tips about our game,   I think that making our game will be a lot eaiser.  In our game, we plan to add drag and drop boxes and add a goal to our game, and certain items that everyone needs to purchase to succed at winning the game.  I think that the tips given from the people who listened to our game demo, was very helpful. 

Presentation..

  I think our Game Demo Presentation went well.  We was very nervous during the process.  After Alyson and I got finished telling them about our game we asked a question about how we could make our game a non quiz game.  They said that we could add drag and drop boxes, and maybe a certian amount that we could spend, or maybe even add some certain kind of clothes that we may want to purchase.  Alyson and I are going to try to succed into making all of their suggestions in to our game.  Me and Alyson feel that their suggestions will improve our game alot.

Development Plan....

     Our topic says, to write.  What is the most difficult concept to teach for our topic? And how we found tortials and thought about design  to teach others the concept? I  think the most diffifult concept to teach, was probaly the percentage.  We put percentage in our game, by have so much percentage off on clothes.  It turned out that this concept became eaiser as our game came together.  I don't think the concept is hard anymore.
